पाकिस्तान की एक अदालत ने शिहाब चित्तूर को देश में प्रवेश करने की मंजूरी दे दी। जिसके बाद शिहाब ने अटारी-वाघा के रास्ते पाकिस्तान में प्रवेश किया। इस दौरान सरवर ताज ने उनका स्वागत किया।
इससे पहले पाकिस्तान की एक अदालत ने एक भारतीय नागरिक को वीजा देने से मना कर दिया था। करीब चार महीने से शिहाब चित्तूर पाकिस्तान का वीजा न होने के कारण अपनी यात्रा को आगे जारी नहीं रख पाए थे। हालांकि, शिहाब चित्तूर की ओर से भगत सिंह मेमोरियल फाउंडेशन पाकिस्तान के अध्यक्ष इम्तियाज राशिद कुरैशी और सरवर ताज ने पाकिस्तान की सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक रिट याचिका दायर की थी।
लाहौर के निवासी सरवर ताज ने लाहौर उच्च न्यायालय में एक याचिका दायर कर अनुरोध किया कि शिहाब को सऊदी अरब की यात्रा करने की अनुमति देने के लिए ट्रांजिट वीजा दिया जाए। उन्होंने तर्क दिया था कि जिस तरह पाकिस्तान सरकार गुरु नानक की जयंती और अन्य अवसरों पर भाग लेने के लिए भारत के सिख तीर्थयात्रियों को वीजा जारी करती है, उसी तरह उसे शिहाब को भी वीजा देना चाहिए।
लाहौर हाई कोर्ट ने उनकी याचिका को खारिज कर दिया था। उन्होंने कहा था कि याचिकाकर्ता भारतीय नागरिक से संबंधित नहीं है और न ही उसके पास अदालत जाने के लिए पावर ऑफ अटॉर्नी थी। राशिद कुरैशी ने समाचार एजेंसी पीटीआई को बताया कि मक्का की अपनी यात्रा जारी रखने के लिए वीजा मिलने से शिहाब बहुत खुश हैं।
