पश्चिम बंगाल में हुई हिंसा को लेकर केंद्र सरकार सख्त नजर आ रही है. गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने मंगलवार 4 अप्रैल को रामनवमी पर हुए दंगे और खराब कानून व्यवस्था पर ममता सरकार से रिपोर्ट मांगी है. गृह मंत्रालय ने पश्चिम बंगाल के चीफ सेक्रेटरी से 3 दिनों के अंदर पूरी घटना पर रिपोर्ट भेजने को कहा है. बंगाल बीजेपी अध्यक्ष सुकांत मजूमदार ने गृहमंत्री अमित शाह को चिट्ठी लिखी थी. जिसमें उन्होंने कहा कि हिन्दुओं को लगातार बंगाल में निशाना बनाया जा रहा है.इस चिट्ठी के बाद गृह मंत्रालय ने ये रिपोर्ट मांगी है. इससे पहले गुरुवार को हावड़ा में रामनवमी के जुलूस के दौरान दो समूहों के बीच झड़प के बाद गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने बंगाल के राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस और राज्य बीजेपी प्रमुख सुकांत मजूमदार से बात की और राज्य में कानून व्यवस्था की स्थिति का आंकलन किया था. राज्यपाल ने अमित शाह को हिंसा और वर्तमान स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी दी थी. हावड़ा में भीड़ की ओर से उत्पात मचाने, वाहनों को जलाने, पथराव करने और दुकानों में तोड़फोड़ करने के बाद इलाके में बड़ी संख्या में पुलिस बल तैनात किया गया था. इस दौरान पुलिस के कई वाहन भी क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए थे. हावड़ा के बाद रविवार को हुगली में भी हिंसा हुई थी. सुकांत मजूमदार ने अपने पत्र में लिखा था कि हुगली जिले में भी बीजेपी की शोभायात्रा में बवाल किया गया. फिर रेलवे स्टेशनों पर भारी पथराव हुआ. जिसके बाद ट्रेन सेवाओं को निलंबित कर दिया गया था और इसे पश्चिम बंगाल की सत्ताधारी पार्टी यानी टीएमसी और उसके समर्थन के बिना जारी नहीं रखा जा सकता था. बीजेपी अध्यक्ष और लोकसभा सांसद सुकांत मजूमदार के नेतृत्व में बीजेपी के एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने मंगलवार को राज्य में हिंसा की हालिया घटनाओं के मामले में राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस से मुलाकात भी की.
