चीन के युन्नान प्रांत के बाओशान शहर में मंगलवार की रात भूकंप के झटके महसूस किए गए। स्थानीय अधिकारियों ने तीसरे स्तर की आपातकालीन सेवाओं को सक्रिय कर दिया है और बचाव दलों को आपदा क्षेत्र में भेज दिया है। उन्होंने बताया कि भूकंप की तीव्रता रिक्टर पैमाने पर 5.2 मापी गयी तथा भूकंप से तीन लोग घायल हुए है। एक स्थानीय रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भूकंप मंगलवार रात 11:27 बजे बाओशान के लोंगयांग जिले में आया। भूकंप में तीन लोगों को मामूली चोटें आई हैं और उन्हें इलाज के लिए अस्पताल भेजा गया। बाओशान के उप मेयर झांग यूनी ने बुधवार सुबह आयोजित एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में कहा कि भूकंप ने आवासीय घरों, पानी, बिजली, यातायात, संचार और अन्य बुनियादी ढांचे को उपरिकेंद्र और उसके आसपास के क्षेत्रों में नुकसान पहुंचाया है। उन्होंने बताया कि खोज और बचाव अभियान चलाने के लिए 2,400 से अधिक लोगों को आपदा क्षेत्र में भेजा गया है तथा कुल 365 टेंट, 734 फोल्डिंग पलंग और 1,470 सूती रजाई प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में आवंटित किए गए हैं।
